Wed

Standard

I got married this past weekend. It was gorgeous and perfect, in all senses of the word.

I have a husband. I am a wife. We are a family. That’s a good word.

There are 10 days until my wedding. Ten.

I have 10 days to make a seating chart, buy a garter (whoops), buy a wrap (except that it’s going to be 65 and sunny on 11/7, dang it!), make place cards, make ceremony programs, buy the last few gifts for people, finalize all those pesky little details, make definite honeymoon plans, come up with time lines and to-do lists for the wedding day, lose 5 pounds, and complete the other 48 things on my To-Do List.

ACK.

Breaking up is hard to do

Standard

Dear Ice Cream,

I’m sorry to have to say this, but I’m afraid I have to break up with you. You see, I have to fit into a lovely white gown in 37 days, and you’re just not helping. You’ve been nothing but sweet and wonderful over the past 24 years, and it pains me to break our special bond, but I think it’s time that I see other, lower calorie and lower fat desserts. Perhaps after the wedding we’ll be able to see each other again, but keep in mind that I also have several pairs of pants that I would like to wear as well. I hope you understand. And I hope you understand why I won’t be visiting your aisle at the grocery store for a while either. I think it would just be too hard. You’ll find someone new, though. I know you will. There are plenty of people out there who would love to have you. But, it’s just not the right time for me.

Thanks for the sweet memories,

Carly

What Fall Means To Me….

Standard

When I was little (in early elementary school), fall meant wearing red or navy zip-down hoodies, turtlenecks under my sweatshirts, ¬†and t-strap shoes with skirts and opaque tights. For years, I have missed wearing t-strap shoes. But GASP…they’re back! As are skirts with opaque tights (except probably not the white tights I used to wear…). I desperately want a pair of t-strap shoes, and have tried on this pair at Target in maroon. Too bad they’re horribly uncomfortable.

Wedding response cards have started coming in… 21 cards so far (36 people). Yikes! It’s for real now!

2 months!

Standard

Two months from now, it will be the night before my wedding. Holy. Crap.

We got our wedding invitations today. They’re gorgeous, and I love them. They were probably worth all the craziness (and the money). I’m excited to send them out this week…but more excited to start getting the responses back!

Oh my goodness…there’s so much to do! (Repeat: I will not freak out at 11:15pm, I will not freak out at 11:15pm…)
